About Me:
My path to naturopathic medicine began with a deep interest in mental health and a core belief that every human is wonderfully complicated in their own beautiful and unique way.
I specialize in integrative mental health, which means I take a holistic approach to supporting how people experience the world—mentally, emotionally, spiritually, and physically. I work directly with mental health conditions and neurodivergence, as well as physical conditions that often overlap with them, such as chronic fatigue, digestive issues, insomnia, and chronic pain.
Treatment approach
My approach to patient care is grounded in curiosity, compassion, and authenticity. I’m particularly drawn to working with individuals who feel “othered” by society or have been treated as “less than” by the medical system. I practice through a Health at Every Size (HAES) lens and am committed to creating a body-positive, weight-neutral space. I don’t assume what “health” means for any one person. Instead, I meet patients where they are, learn about their lived experience, and partner with them to explore treatment options that feel truly doable.
In addition to naturopathic modalities and pharmaceuticals, I may incorporate counseling into visits. This can include discussing skills and tools to practice at home, mindfulness techniques, somatic awareness, or creative ways to shape a patient’s environment to better support their goals. I also enjoy helping patients strengthen their foundations of health, including sleep, nourishment, movement, stress management, and joy.
Ongoing endeavors
I’m continually working to challenge and unlearn internalized bias related to ableism, race, gender, sexuality, body size, neurodiversity, and other potential blind spots. I’m also committed to learning how my own brain works—and helping other neurodivergent folks do the same.
Beyond the practitioner role
I find joy in dancing, being barefoot in the grass, wandering through forests, exuberant silliness, and enthusiastically geeking out over Star Wars. Nature, art, and music are ongoing sources of meaning and inspiration for me.
I’ve always had a strong connection to animals. These days my little black cat holds down my fur-family fort. Her older (and much larger) dog siblings have passed, but remain very much with us in memory and spirit.
Other joys, delights, and interests: playing with herbs, drinking tea, chocolate, silly jokes and puns, cozy slippers, gently battling my inner perfectionist through abstract art experimentation, and one-minute solo dance parties.
Educational and Work Background
I hold a Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine and a Master of Science in Integrative Mental Health. Over the last 15 years, I’ve worked in various roles in the mental health field. Through my experiences in case management, residential treatment, and inpatient care, I’ve seen the strengths and limitations of conventional mental health care. I was delighted when I first discovered Amenda Clinic, where they were offering a truly holistic approach to mental health care. It was my “Aha!” moment and it sparked my pursuit of becoming a naturopathic doctor. Years later, returning to Amenda Clinic as a clinician was truly such a gift.
Amenda will always feel like “home.” The last three years at Amenda strengthened my commitment to practicing in a way that is creative, evidence-informed, and deeply human. I’ll continue holding those values with me in my private practice and carry forward the mission of integrative care rooted in curiosity, collaboration, and honoring the lived experience of the human in front of me.
